What is the difference between natural and synthetic fibers?

Natural fibers must be color-locked and cleaned with a solvent-based cleaner by a trained professional, or the colors may bleed or the upholstery may brown or yellow out. Synthetic fibers are more durable, usually color-locked, and can be cleaned with water-based cleaners in most cases.
